Advancing Mobility for Veterans: A Milestone We're Proud to Share

This Veterans’ Day is an especially meaningful one for all of us at Cionic. Over the past year, our team has had the privilege of partnering with Veterans Affairs centers across the U.S. to bring the Neural Sleeve to men and women who have served our country. Today, veterans can access our technology through 50 VA locations — from New York City, to San Francisco, and even to Honolulu — a milestone we’re honored to celebrate.

Our team has visited many of these VA centers and met with dozens of veterans navigating life with mobility challenges — as well as the dedicated physical therapists who support them. With each visit, our team is continually inspired by the resilience and determination each person brings to their rehabilitation journey.

Meeting Veterans Where They Are

Since last year, the Cionic Neural Sleeve has been listed on Federal purchasing catalogs and available throughout the Veterans Health Administration. That means veterans living with gait challenges due to diagnoses like multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, stroke, and brain injury have access to the Neural Sleeve if they and their VA health care providers feel it is right for them.

The Veterans Health Administration is the largest integrated healthcare system in the United States, and it’s an honor for Cionic to be able to serve the hundreds of thousands of veterans living with mobility challenges caused by neurological conditions. With each partnership, we strive to meet veterans and their support teams where they are, through in-person demos, virtual on-boarding, and flexible rental or purchase arrangements that make each interaction as smooth as possible. And we’ve been so motivated by the openness of the veterans community to new innovation.

Partnering With Physical Therapists in a Culture of Service

As we deepen our collaboration with the VA community, what’s become clear is that the culture of the VA matches the dedication of those it serves. Many of the professionals we work with — particularly the physical therapists — are veterans themselves.

These PTs take a pragmatic, disciplined approach to rehabilitation. They're highly protective of their patients and rigorously evaluate any new intervention. That discipline means when they do embrace an innovation, it's because they've seen it work. We don’t take their trust for granted and know our technology can’t succeed without their partnership.

We’re so grateful to support the VA community and are humbled by the veterans who let us be a part of their journey. Their example of service continues to inspire our commitment to transforming mobility care.
